From the official press release:
It takes a brave, selfless man to make himself a “human target” in order to save the lives of those in danger. Based on the popular DC Comics graphic novel, HUMAN TARGET is a full-throttle action drama centered on CHRISTOPHER CHANCE (Mark Valley, FRINGE), a unique private contractor/security guard hired to protect. Call him what you like, because for Chance, it’s about one thing only: saving his clients’ lives. When there is an unusual or imminent threat that can’t be solved through “normal” means of protection, Chance is hired to completely integrate himself into his clients’ lives – to become the human target. If you’re a corporate manager whose disgruntled employee has gone violently off the deep end, Chance is your new auditor. If you’re the president of a bank who’s been tipped off to a potential heist, Chance is your unassuming bank teller. During each job, Chance, assisted by his business partner WINSTON (Chi McBride, “Pushing Daisies”) and hired gun GUERRERO (Jackie Earle Haley, “Watchmen”), puts himself directly in the line of fire as he races against time to save his client, while unraveling the truth behind the mission. TSCC-One last thing from Josh Friedman.
By now most of you have heard the news that T:SCC is cancelled. I received a call earlier today from Peter Roth at Warner Bros. and I appreciate both his personal and professional support throughout this show’s life. I know a lot of you are angry about the cancellation and want to find a place to direct your anger and to that I say do yourself a favor and find a way to move past it. Every network wants a big fat hit, especially one with a brand name behind it, and Fox was/is no different. They supported the show, they supported my vision of the show, and they gave it plenty of time to find an audience.
And what an audience we found: passionate, intelligent, kind of nuts in a good way. My only complaint about the T:SCC fans is that there aren’t ten million of them. But I prefer to be happy for the ones we had instead of lamenting the ones we didn’t.
Good shows are cancelled every year; smart shows, worthy shows, shows which move their viewers to write blogs and have viewing parties and create action figures and bury executives’ email accounts under thousands of messages. I miss Deadwood and The Wire and Arrested Development but thank God that I still have Rescue Me and The Office and a recently renewed Party Down written by ex-T:SCC writer John Enbom.
Bad shows are cancelled, too. And certainly there are those who did not like what we did and had their own vision for what a Terminator TV show should be. It’s easy to look at low ratings or cancellation as “failure” and for those who believe we’ve gone about this all wrong I’m sure today’s news will only serve to confirm a world view that I would never try to change. We’ve written the show as best we can, executed it to the best of our abilities, and sent it out in the world knowing that we worked out asses off to do something that wouldn’t be a waste of anybody’s forty-three minutes.
Thanks to a brave and talented cast, a feature crew working on a TV schedule, and everyone else who I could list but won’t because they know who they are. Mostly I’d like to thank those of you who’ve supported us and fought for us and given up hours of your life to watch our show. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about. The watching.
Hope we do it again soon.
Josh Friedman

Fox 2009-10 schedule announced: Dollhouse renewed, Sarah Connor Chronicles cancelled
It's official: Fox renewed Dollhouse (in a surprise move) and cancelled TSCC.For quite a while, there were various articles about the fate of each.Well, in an ideal world, i would like both shows to continue, but ...I certainly liked Dollhouse, but if i had to choose between those two, i would choose TSCC, because i am more invested in it.The release of the new movie gave some hope to fans, but i guess we'll never see the aftermath of the second (and final) season finale.
As expected, Fox renewed 24, House M.D, Fringe, Lie to Me and Bones (for two seasons).
Among the new shows: Human Target, Past Life and Glee.

Ron Moore's Virtuality dead, even before it airs?
Apparently, that's the case. You'll ask why?Well, Fox will air the pilot on July 4 (Saturday and a national holiday). For many, this is a sign that the network has already given up on the show (it should also be noted that Fox ordered several changes to Virtuality to make it more mainstream).Of course, the show may continue, but we shouldn't get our hopes up.It will be interesting to see the new creation of Ron Moore. It's a really ambitious, maybe stange, concept.
The story is set aboard the Phaeton, Earth's first starship, on a ten-year journey to explore a distant planetary system. In order to help the crew endure the long mission, a system of virtual reality modules is installed aboard the starship. These modules allow the crew to assume various identities and enjoy a variety of adventures, until a flaw is discovered in the system.

Salvation by cyborg: McG helms next chapter in 'Terminator' saga
By Ethan Alter, filmjournal.com
April 27,2009
It's safe to say that any die-hard Terminator fan would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of the office where Joseph McGinty Nichol met with James Cameron to discuss Terminator Salvation, the fourth installment in one of most successful science-fiction franchises of all time. In one corner you had Cameron, who co-wrote and directed the original Terminator in 1984 and went on to make such revered action films as Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and True Lies. And in the other corner sat Nichol—or, as he's more commonly credited, McG—a music-video director who broke into feature filmmaking with the Charlie's Angels movies, which were filled with the kind of silly, deliberately over-the-top set-pieces Cameron has always avoided. Now McG was about to continue the Terminator legacy and he felt he couldn't do so without first paying homage to its creator in person.
"I wanted to be respectful and tell Jim that I intended to honor what he put into motion," says the 38-year-old, Michigan-born, California-raised director, on the phone from his L.A. office. "And I believed him when he told me that he finished telling the story at the end of the second film. So I brought it to him that the story was still worth exploring because [Terminator Salvation] was about the future war between the machines and humanity. He nodded his head and said, ‘That's interesting’ and went on to talk about how when he was making Aliens, everyone thought he was full of shit. Like 'Who does this guy think he is, following Ridley Scott?' Remember, he had only made a few films by that time. He wished me well, but added, 'I reserve the right not to like it.' And I said, 'That's fine, I reserve the right not to like [Cameron's new film] Avatar.' And we laughed as two directing colleagues would and that was that. I look forward to having a private screening [of the finished movie] with Jim, most likely at [Hollywood super-agent] Ari Emanuel's screening room. It's neutral turf, so if we get into a fistfight, Ari can break it up!"

X-Men OrIgins: Wolverine and the future of the series
Three years after X-Men 3: The Last Stand, Wolverine is the first movie in a series of spin-offs.Hugh Jackman reprises his role and he's also a producer.Until its release, many things happened, from disagreements between the director and the studio to a leak of a work in progress version in file-sharing sites.Despite all this, the expectations were relatively high. So, does it deliver or does it disappoint?
The answer to the previous question is somewhere in the middle. The origins of Wolverine are established decently, but not without missteps. There are moments where you think that the filmakers achieved what they set out to do and other moments where you think that this isn't the origin story that you wanted or that you expected. And that's exactly the main flaw of the movie, the fact that it's an uneven one. There are certainly well-filmed, impressive, and emotional scenes, and the perfomances are decent (Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth stands out).Overall, there was potential, which to some level was wasted.
What's the reason for this outcome? Is it because you remove the mystery behind a character and you try to explain and eventually you fail?Is it because there isn't material, which could function as a basis for a decent story? As far the last question is concerned, it could be argued that there is plenty of material, which would be more than enough for a decent movie.
With a Wolverine sequel (set in Japan), a Magneto spin-off, a Deadpool spin-off and X-Men First Class already in development, it's evident where the series is going. This concept (of origin stories) is interesting, keeps the franchise fresh and ensures a steady source of revenue for the studio (with lesser cost, if the characters are recast). While i'm not opposed to all these spin-offs (if the execution is better than Wolverine), i have some reservations. My main reservation is about X-Men: First Class.I think that it's too soon for such a movie, even it's still in the early stages of development. But with all the remakes/reboots/spin-offs of recent years and of the future ,it's understandable why the studio would follow that concept. What i would want to see is X-Men 4, a true sequel to X3.The reception to The Last Stand was lukewarm and many think that the series reached its peak with X2, and so it's argued that there is no reason for another sequel and if there was possibility for such a movie, new contracts with the actors and actresses would be needed, which means new negotiations and maybe higher cost. However, i would like to see, after some spin-offs, a true X-Men sequel, ideally with most of the cast and Bryan Singer returning.I think that there many good stories that deserve to be told.I know that it's probably not going to happen, though you can never be certain for anything.

Tetro Trailer
Wolverine 2, and other Hugh Jackman projects
Variety reports that Fox, along with Hugh Jackman and Seed Productions, has begun to plan the sequel (after the $87m opening weekend gross of Wolverine) , although a writer has yet to be hired. It will focus on the Japanese-set storyline, where his character – in an effort to control his bestial ways – trains in the way of the samurai, and also falls in love with the daughter of a Yakuza crime lord.
Three other projects with Hugh Jackman involved are also mentioned.
Drive – An adaptation of the James Sallis novel revolving around a man (Jackman) who drives race cars by day and getaway cars by night.
Personal Security- A movie about a tough New York cop forced to bodyguard a spoilt heiress.
Carousel-A remake of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical.
