Robert Downey Jr.: 'Iron Man 2 Incredibly Risky'
From Collider.com
"(Iron Man 2 is) incredibly risky and artistic for a big genre movie."
"The set pieces have to do with things that aren't your typical bad guy conflict. The relationships are very complex and hilarious."
"The motivations Tony has and why he turns around and does things has completely to do with his own internal processes... we're kind of trying to tell a story about how a dysfunctional family saves life on Earth as we know it."
Robert Downey Jr. said that he's taking the movie more seriously than any other movie he's ever done, and also that Gary Shandling has joined the cast to play a Senator.

Three days ago Iron Man 2 began filming and the first set photos were posted on the internet.According to IESB ,on set was veteran actor Garry Shandling. The site reports that Shandling is a Senator that appears in a continuation of the final scene from the first IRON MAN film.
Robert Downey Jr. confirmed ( to the MTV Splash Page) that Demon in a Bottle won't be the storyline of the sequel."As a matter of fact, I think that's probably best saved because it's such its own storyline. We're going for the interim space [between the origin and Demon] which is more a look behind the mask of someone who says he's Iron Man and what it really is to become a superhero."Last week,Downey spoke to Entertainment Tonight:"(Iron Man 2) is almost entirely about character, and yet we still have twice as much action as we did last time, so it's going to be nuts. ... Essentially Iron Man 2 is about looking behind the armor, or the armature, of a superhero. It's one thing to say you're Iron Man, it's another thing to be fully ready to do that."
He added that he's been rehearsing with co-star Scarlett Johansson, who plays the Black Widow, and says that "she's in insane shape. She's getting lean and mean."
In other news,Tim Robbins refuted the rumour ( to ReelTalk) that he'll play Howard Stark.
It was rumoured that Gary Oldman will play the role, but that rumour was denied by the actor's manager.

Iron Man 2-Emily Blunt to be Black Widow?

By Michael Fleming,Variety
January 14,2009
With Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell negotiating to play key villains in "Iron Man 2," Marvel Entertainment and director Jon Favreau are now looking for the right thesp to play femme fatale Black Widow, another nemesis for Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.
Emily Blunt has emerged as the frontrunner to play Natasha Romanoff in the "Iron Man" sequel. She's a Soviet superspy who doubles as Black Widow, a beauty in a skintight black costume enhanced by high-tech weaponry.
Blunt, whose credits include "The Devil Wears Prada," "The Jane Austen Book Club" and "Charlie Wilson's War," will get a profile boost when she stars with Benicio Del Toro in the Joe Johnston-directed "The Wolf Man" for Universal.
Marvel would not comment on the Black Widow casting. The Justin Theroux-scripted "Iron Man 2" will begin production in the spring for release by Paramount in summer 2010.

Sin City 2 in 2009?
By Chris Tilly,IGN UK
December 4,2008
We spoke to Frank Miller this morning at The Spirit junket, and couldn't resist asking him about the sequel to one of our favourite films of the last five years, Sin City.
Much to our delight, the response was encouraging, with the writer-turned-director saying that Sin City 2 might be ready to shoot early next year.
"Sin City 2 is written," he proclaimed. "It's mainly a matter of working out the details of the production. I'm hoping to do it with Robert Rodriguez again in the same circumstances that we did the first one, and we could be shooting as soon as April."
He wouldn't be drawn on the nature of the plot or which A-listers would return for the shoot, but the thought of Sin City 2 hitting cinemas before the end of next year makes us all tingly in our special place.
Cinematical adds that Mickey Rourke merely told MTV that he was ready (to shoot the sequel). Way back in July, Robert Rodriguez smiled coyly and said he was "reassessing," being focused on a fall project that never was revealed.
UPDATE:Rosario Dawson confirmed to IESB.net the April start date talked about for SIN CITY 2. She said that the script is done and they are all set to go. She will reprise her role of Gail.
However,at the junket for Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler,Mickey Rourke told ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype that he's not interested in reprising his role.
"No, I'm not interested in that right now. That's not a reality right now. It's pissing in the wind," Rourke admitted. "There's different factions going different directions there. I don't know. That's three hours of make up and I'm claustrophobic, so I'm going to have to work something out."
