Steven Spielberg's Lincoln Biopic

Steven Spielberg – currently doing the press rounds for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – has let slip his forthcoming plans, and it looks like his long overdue Lincoln biopic will finally get made.

Speaking to the German magazine FOCUS, Spielberg said that he will shoot his film adaptation of Tintin later this year, leaving him free to work on the Lincoln flick at the start of 2009.

Liam Neeson has already been cast as "honest" Abe, while Spielberg will shoot from the script by Tony Kushner, which in turn is loosely based on Doris Goodwin's biography The Uniter: The Genius of Abraham Lincoln.
