James Mangold (Cop Land,3:10 to Yuma,Walk the Line) is attached to direct a romantic comedy, starring (possibly) Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The story involves a woman who "has terrible luck with men but finds her path intertwined with that of a mysterious handsome man she meets on a blind date."
According to Variety, the untitled film was previously known as Wichita as well as Trouble Man during its gestation at 20th Century Fox.It's pointed out that neither Cruise nor Diaz are "formally" attached to the project, but that the film is one of several that Cruise is considering for his next outing. It's also mentioned that,Scott Frank (Out of Sight, The Lookout) is rewriting the project, which previously had Chris Tucker and Eva Mendes attached with director Tom Dey. The original script was by Patrick O'Neill, with earlier drafts coming from Frank and Dana Fox.
