Al Pacino signs on to play Napoleon

According to Hollywood Reporter,Al Pacino,has signed on to play the French emperor in a screen adaptation of Staton Rabin's children's book "Betsy and the Emperor."Based on the true story of Betsy Balcombe, Rabin's tale follows the 14-year-old as she breaks out of her family's fear of Bonaparte and becomes his friend while he's exiled on St. Helena.John Curran ("The Painted Veil") is attached to direct from a screenplay by Brian Edgar.
