Release schedule: Iron Man 2 in May 2010, Thor in May 2011, and The First Avenger: Captain America in July 2011, The Avengers in Summer 2012.
Tidbits of information (provided by Kevin Feige, Marvel's president of production, in an industry conference) on the upcoming projects:
*Iron Man 2: The goal is to carry over the humor and tone of the first film, while adding more characters and upping the action. Scarlett Johannson's character has "two sides," and the actress is signed for multiple movies.
*Thor: No Shakespearean dialogue (per Kenneth Branagh's wishes)! No Don Blake! Primarily set on Earth (though also on Asgard and "other worlds")! How exactly is that going to work? No idea!
*The First Avenger: Captain America: Will be "primarily" set during World War II. With Joe Johnston at the helm, Feige described the picture in terms of the director / visual effects designer's past work (The Rocketeer, October Sky, Star Wars). Sidekick Bucky will appear "in some capacity."
*The Avengers: Captain America will be involved in the plot "from the get go."
*Ant-Man: Edgar Wright will be submitting another draft after he completes Scott Pilgrim.
Feige also revealed that another new Marvel movie will be released in 2012.

Samuel L. Jackson signs nine-picture deal with Marvel Studios
According to Hollywood Reporter,Samuel L. Jackson , has signed an unprecedented nine-picture deal to play Nick Fury, agent of spy outfit S.H.I.E.L.D. in a series of Marvel movies.The movies include "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "Captain America," "The Avengers" and its sequels.There is also the possibility of a "S.H.I.E.L.D." movie, which is in development. Captain America Has a Director
Filmmaker Joe Johnston will take the helm of the eagerly anticipated Captain America movie.
The Jurassic Park III director has signed a deal with Marvel Studios to bring the comic book superhero to the big screen in 2011.
It is the third Marvel film in the pipeline, including Thor and the Avengers, after Robert Downey Jr.'s turn as Iron Man earlier in the year proved a huge success with superhero fans.
Although Johnston has signed the deal, it is unknown who will take on the patriotic U.S. role.
Comic book creator Stan Lee has given his backing to Will Smith to wear the red, white and blue suit, although other insiders have suggested Matthew McConaughey may land the part.(IMDB)

Captain America Is A War Hero:Marvel Origin Story To Be Set In WWII
If you’re a Captain America fan, today is a good day. Ever since Marvel revealed its plans to make a Cap movie a few weeks back, the rumour mill has been rapidly a-turning as to how it’s all going to pan out… Will it be set in the modern day? Will the flag-waving hero be contemporised? Will Matthew McConaughey be donning the Lycra?
Well, in a state of the comic universe address to CHUD.com, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige has spoken out to set a few facts straight. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, he revealed that The First Avenger: Captain America (not Captain America: The First Avenger as originally reported) will be a period flick set during World War II. That’s great news for true believers as it follows the comic icon’s official origin story – skinny test subject Steve Rogers volunteers to be injected with a Super-Soldier serum that will turn him into the patriotic perfect human being – and will give us the opportunity to see Mr USA kicking all kinds of Nazi butt and most likely facing off against his uber-bastard arch-nemesis, the Red Skull.
As with Marvel’s cross-pollination (which started with the Nick Fury appearance in Iron Man and will continue with the Tony Stark cameo in The Incredible Hulk), the comic book giant is looking to emulate its character-packed universe in its movie adaptations. But, while looking to appease long-time fans by immersing, Feige promises that you won’t need to see all of Marvel’s upcoming films to understand The Avengers.
“Each of them have to stand on their own,” Feige said. “You won’t have to have seen any of the films to understand The Avengers… but it will help.”

Marvel movies update
Thor:Marvel is waiting for a script polish from scribe Mark Protosevich ("I Am Legend"). Matthew Vaughn no longer is attached to direct the project because his holding deal expired December.
"It's very much a Marvel superhero story but against the backdrop of nothing you've seen before," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in describing "Thor" as a period fantasy in the vein of "The Lord of the Rings."
Captain America: The "Captain America" project is looking for a rewrite as well as a director.
Iron Man 2: While the studio has options for two more films in the "Iron Man" series at prenegotiated terms with Downey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard, studio chairman David Maisel refused to confirm Downey's participation in "Iron Man 2." Given that the movie outperformed expectations, industry practice would suggest that Marvel will have to sweeten the pot to reward the movie's star.
The company already has general ideas of where it wants to take the sequel's story line and plans on sitting down with Downey and director Jon Favreau this week to nail down a direction before hiring writers.
All of Marvel's movies, beginning with "Iron Man," are now being designed to lead up to the July 2011 release of "The Avengers," which will see Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor teaming up. The studio has Zak Penn on board to write the project, which he will do so in concert with the development of the other projects during the next year and a half.
Marvel hopes that the same actors who portray the heroes in the individual movies will reprise their roles for "Avengers," though no agreements are in place. Although Samuel L. Jackson makes a surprise appearance as Nick Fury in "Iron Man," that does not necessarily mean the actor will be back as super spy Fury in "Avengers."
"That was a stunt and a treat for fans," Feige said.
Now that Marvel has more control over the movies its characters star in -- audiences can expect some cross-referencing. For example, Downey's Tony Stark, Iron Man's alter ego, will pop up in the upcoming "The Incredible Hulk," and the Hulk might be featured in "Iron Man 2."

Marvel movies news
Marvel Entertainment is going strong after Iron Man's huge opening weekend, and the company today announced their feature film release slate through 2011. That schedule includes the Iron Man sequel and Thor in 2010, and not one but two Avengers-themed movies in the summer of 2011.
Iron Man 2 will hit theaters on April 30, 2010.Thor, which has Stardust helmer Matthew Vaughn attached, will follow on June 4, 2010. The character, according to Marvel Studios' David Maisel, will first be introduced to moviegoers in Iron Man 2. Then, on May 6, 2011, Marvel will release First Avenger:Captain America (that's the first we've heard of the movie's working title), followed by a full-on Avengers movie, aptly named The Avengers, in July 2011.
The studio also confirmed that the Ant-Man film is still in active development with Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) directing. There's no release date for that one yet.
